I stated a very similar point above.
And, uhh, mistermostyn, a little quick on the attack without paying any attention to what others are actually saying don't you think.
You are right, it says that FOX will now be looking for something to attack, but this type of article points them right to their target.
But what is funnier is the people taking it seriously in the comments above, either getting defensive or attacking MS (again).
Now THAT is funny!
The video game market is pretty saturated at the moment. I don't feel there is a need for another console. I would hate to see the market split four ways. Yes, I believe competition is good, but I think that four would just make each slice of the pie too small. With the high cost of development now, exclusives will become harder sells for profit if people have to choose between a greater number of consoles. That would mean less exclusives, and to me, exclusives are what keep the market compet...
this article is TRYING to stir something up by drawing attention to that scene. No real mention of it was made in the main stream media when it came out on PS2, so why bring it up now?
This type of preemptive attack on news media just seems unnecessary and is just poking the bear, daring his to wake up.
I've said before, no real value as a review but it doesn't get much more entertaining. LOL
After my last post, all those old games started flooding back!
Space Harrior, Forgotten Worlds, Streets of Rage, Road Rash (all Genesis).
Donkey Kong (Coleco Vision), Tron (Intelevision).
And of course you can't forget the true classics that every Atari 2600 owner had and played until your fingers bled: Pac-man, Asteroids, and Frogger!
And yes, I am that old, thank you!
FFVII and FFVIII ate up a lot of my time.
Legend of Legaia was a big one; strangely I got caught up in the fishing side quest for many evenings.
MGS was a game I went back and played through over and over.
Legend of Dragoon, but hey that was basically stolen from the FF format.
Lately it has been Guitar Hero III. Every spare minute I'll quickly turn on my PS3 and and play one song before I have to leave for work!
Going back to one really craptacul...
I was hoping some one would catch that!
Hey, I know it is fun and extremely popular, but what would they do week after week?
Another "kick it out the door to cash in on the FPS military rage that is running rampant right now" game. Sad. But sadder still is that there will be a lot of people who will buy it not knowing any better.
Here's a better idea - don't pick up chicks online. Period.
There are some things in life that a virtual world can't replicate. Know what I mean, know what I mean, nudge, nudge, say no more, know what I mean.
bubbles to you!
It is an entertainment media. That is my problem with the word toy. A DVD player is not a toy, yet your child uses it as entertainment. As you said, if video games are toys, then so are books, movies, TV, sports equipment, crossword puzzles, playing cards, board games, ect, ect, ect.
If these predictions are right (and for the record, I don't think they are) this would be suicide for MS. To abandon another system after such a short life would be crazy. As I've stated in some other posts, with the whole RROD thing and abandonment of their hardware is a true recipe for disaster.
Mark my words, if they abandon the 360 in the same fashion as the original xbox and end up rushing another machine to market with hardware problems, they will be DOA in the video gam...
Toy is just demeaning, although not completely inaccurate. The implication that gamers delay their lives, shrug off families, and sit home, glued to their TVs, caring about only the game is a little absurd. I have two self-employed jobs, I vote and follow politics, read regularly...and I play video games. It is a fun escape and a way for me to forget about all the serious stuff I have to deal with on a daily basis.
I liked this article. I didn't care much for the original arti...
My biggest question is why is it still happening? Why are 360s still bricking on everyone? I like some of 360's exclusives, but with this still going on, I would never buy one, and that is sad. I'm not loyal to any one company, but with MS's track record last gen (abandonment) and this gen (RROD), they pretty much made my mind up for me.
PS - that sucks Integra, but I see you have a Resistance picture, so I guess you are OK!
So many people complained about the bias of 1up and gametrailers, then a article like this comes out and everyone takes it as fact.
Fact is, I've own plenty of games that scored 4 to 7 and have been perfectly happy with them. I was a huge fan of the plodding quests of King's Field, and I think that game scored a 4 or lower on most reviews, if they even bothered to review it! Same goes for Deception, bad to mediocre reviews at best! Ratings are helpful, but they are not fact, th...
and I would also like to add that because PS3 has less games than its competition, any low review score would / will affect its average in a much greater way.
"If the tables were turned"?
What? The article basically says the two versions are about identical. If you turn the tables on two identical products, don't you end up with the same result? LOL
Agree with you klashawnd!
I studied psychology in college, and the problem with these type of people who kill for their own amusement is that their appetite can not be sated. If they get a taste through a game, they will eventually move on to the real thing. Just as with most serial killers, each progressive killing only fuels their desire for the next, to get it "right" and to feel the exhilaration of taking another life. That's not to say a game can influence some one to move on to the real thing, it's tha...
and then market their own brand of HDs "specially made and licensed" by Sony with the PS3 logo right on the box. Kind of like they do with controllers and such other add-ons. Put them right by the head-sets and cables in game stores. I think people would be very likely to pick up a Sony licensed HD as opposed to another brand just because everything would "match", and let's face it, not every one is as knowledgable about this stuff as the gamers here.
